12 Then you will say in that day,
“^(A)I will give thanks to You, O Yahweh;
For ^(B)although You were angry with me,
Your anger is turned away,
And You comfort me.

40 “^(A)Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God.
² “^(B)Speak to the heart of Jerusalem;
And call out to her, that her ^[a](C)warfare has been fulfilled,
That her ^[b](D)iniquity has been removed,
That she has received from the hand of Yahweh
^(E)Double for all her sins.”

^13 (A)Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!
Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains!
For ^(B)Yahweh has comforted His people
And will ^(C)have compassion on His afflicted.

³ Indeed, ^(A)Yahweh will comfort Zion;
He will comfort all her ^(B)waste places.
And her ^(C)wilderness He will make like ^(D)Eden,
And her desert like the ^(E)garden of Yahweh;
^(F)Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.
