¹⁰ Then it will be in that day,
That the ^(A)nations will seek the ^(B)root of Jesse,
Who will stand as a ^[a](C)standard for the peoples;
And His ^(D)resting place will be ^[b]glorious.

“In ^[a]repentance and ^(A)rest you will be saved,
In ^(B)quietness and trust is your might.”
But you were not willing,

¹⁸ And in that day I will cut a covenant for them
With the ^(A)beasts of the field,
The birds of the sky,
And the creeping things of the ground.
And I will ^(B)break the bow, the sword, and war from the land,
And I will make them ^(C)lie down in security.
¹⁹ And I will ^(D)betroth you to Me forever;
Indeed, I will betroth you to Me in ^(E)righteousness and in justice,
In lovingkindness and in compassion,
²⁰ And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness.
Then you will ^(F)know Yahweh.
