6 I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. 7 However he doesn’t mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off not a few nations. 8 For he says, “Aren’t all of my princes kings?

New International Version
6 I send him against a godless(A) nation,
I dispatch(B) him against a people who anger me,(C)
to seize loot and snatch plunder,(D)
and to trample(E) them down like mud in the streets.
7 But this is not what he intends,(F)
this is not what he has in mind;
his purpose is to destroy,
to put an end to many nations.
8 ‘Are not my commanders(G) all kings?’ he says.
