³ and you will say, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “A great ^(A)eagle with ^(B)great wings, long pinions, and a full plumage of ^[a]many colors came to ^(C)Lebanon and took away the top of the cedar. ⁴ He plucked off the topmost of its young twigs and brought it to a land of merchants; he set it in a city of traders.

²² Thus says Lord Yahweh, “I will also take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and set it out; I will pluck from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on an ^(A)exalted and lofty mountain.

¹⁶ I made the nations ^(A)quake at the sound of its downfall when I made it ^(B)go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of ^(C)Lebanon, all the ^[a]well-watered ones, were ^(D)comforted in the earth beneath.

¹⁰ ‘Now these were the ^(A)visions in my head as I lay on my bed: I was looking, and behold, there was a ^(B)tree in the midst of the ^[a]earth, and its height was great.

²⁰ The ^(A)tree that you saw, which became large and grew strong, whose height reached to the sky and was visible to all the earth, ²¹ and whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which the beasts of the field inhabited, and in whose branches the birds of the sky dwelt— ²² it is ^(B)you, O king; for you have become great and grown strong, and your greatness has become even greater and reached to the sky and your ^[a](C)dominion to the end of the earth. ²³ But in that the king saw a watcher, a holy one, descending from heaven and saying, “^(D)Chop down the tree and destroy it; yet leave the stump ^[b]with its roots in the earth, but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field, and let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let ^[c]him share with the beasts of the field until ^(E)seven ^[d]periods of time pass over him,”
