Isaia 33
La Nuova Diodati
33 Guai a te che devasti anche se non sei stato devastato, che agisci perfidamente anche se non ti è stata usata perfidia! Quando avrai finito di devastare, sarai devastato, quando avrai finito di agire perfidamente, ti sarà usata perfidia.
2 O Eterno, abbi pietà di noi che speriamo in te. Sii il nostro braccio ogni mattina e la nostra salvezza, in tempo di avversità.
3 Al rumore di una moltitudine fuggono i popoli, quando ti levi le nazioni si disperdono.
4 Il vostro bottino sarà raccolto come si radunano i bruchi; come si precipitano le locuste così si precipiteranno su di esso.
5 L'Eterno è esaltato perché abita in alto; egli riempie Sion di equità e di giustizia,
6 e sarà la sicurezza dei tuoi giorni, la forza della salvezza, sapienza e conoscenza; il timore dell'Eterno sarà il suo tesoro.
7 Ecco, i loro eroi gridano di fuori, i messaggeri di pace piangono amaramente.
8 Le strade sono deserte, non c'è piú alcun passante sulla strada. Egli ha rotto il patto, disprezza le città, non ha riguardo per alcun uomo.
9 Il paese è nel lutto e langue; il Libano è pieno di vergogna e svigorito; Sharon è come un deserto, Bashan e Karmel sono scossi violentemente.
10 Ora mi leverò», dice l'Eterno, «ora sarò esaltato, ora mi innalzerò.
11 Voi avete concepito pula, partorirete stoppia; il vostro fiato sarà un fuoco che vi divorerà.
12 I popoli saranno come fornaci da calce, come rovi tagliati saranno bruciati nel fuoco.
13 O voi che siete lontani, udite ciò che ho fatto; e voi che siete vicini, riconoscete la mia potenza».
14 In Sion i peccatori sono presi da spavento, un tremore si è impadronito degli empi: «Chi di noi potrà dimorare con il fuoco divorante? Chi di noi potrà dimorare con le fiamme eterne?».
15 Colui che cammina giustamente e parla rettamente, colui che disprezza i guadagni distorti, che scuote le mani per non accettare regali, che si tura gli orecchi per non udire parlare di sangue e chiude gli occhi per non vedere il male,
16 costui dimorerà in luoghi elevati, le rocche fortificate saranno il suo rifugio; il suo pane gli sarà dato, la sua acqua gli sarà assicurata.
17 I tuoi occhi contempleranno il re nella sua bellezza, vedranno un paese molto lontano.
18 Il tuo cuore mediterà sui terrori passati: «Dov'è lo scriba? Dov'è colui che pesa? Dov'è colui che conta le torri?».
19 Tu non vedrai piú quel popolo feroce, quel popolo dal linguaggio oscuro e incomprensibile, che balbetta una lingua che nessuno capisce.
20 Contempla Sion, la città delle nostre solennità! I tuoi occhi vedranno Gerusalemme, dimora tranquilla, tenda che non sarà piú rimossa, i suoi piuoli non saranno piú divelti e nessuna delle sue funi sarà strappata.
21 Ma là l'Eterno nel suo splendore sarà per noi un luogo di fiumi e larghi corsi d'acqua, dove non giunge alcuna nave a remi e dove non passa alcun potente naviglio.
22 Poiché l'Eterno è il nostro giudice, l'Eterno è il nostro legislatore, l'Eterno è il nostro re; egli ci salverà.
23 Le tue corde sono allentate, non tengono saldamente l'albero e non spiegano piú le vele. Allora si spartirà la preda di un ricco bottino; gli zoppi stessi prenderanno parte al saccheggio.
24 Nessun abitante dirà: «Io sono malato». Il popolo che vi abita otterrà il perdono della sua iniquità.

33 ¡Ay de ti que destruyes(A),
Y no has sido destruido;
Y de aquel que es traidor(B), cuando otros no actuaron con perfidia contra él!
Cuando termines de destruir, serás destruido(C);
Cuando acabes de actuar con perfidia, con perfidia actuarán contra ti(D).
2 Oh Señor, ten piedad de nosotros(E); en Ti hemos esperado(F).
Sé nuestra[a] fortaleza[b](G) cada mañana,
También nuestra salvación en tiempo de angustia(H).
3 Al estruendo del tumulto los pueblos huyen(I);
Al levantarte Tú, las naciones se dispersan(J).
4 Se recoge el[c] botín como recoge la oruga,
Se lanzan sobre él como se lanzan las langostas.
5 Exaltado es el Señor(K), pues mora en lo alto;
Ha llenado a Sión de derecho y de justicia(L).
6 Él será la seguridad[d](M) de tus tiempos,
Abundancia de salvación(N), sabiduría y conocimiento(O);
El temor del Señor(P) es tu[e] tesoro.
7 Miren cómo sus valientes claman en las calles[f],
Los mensajeros(Q) de paz lloran amargamente.
8 Las calzadas están desiertas, el viajero ya no pasa[g](R).
Ha quebrantado el pacto(S), ha despreciado las ciudades[h],
No tiene en estima al hombre.
9 La tierra está de duelo y desfallece(T),
El Líbano(U) está avergonzado y se marchita.
Sarón(V) es como una llanura desierta,
Y pierden[i] su follaje Basán y el Carmelo.
10 «Ahora me levantaré», dice el Señor(W),
«Ahora seré exaltado, ahora seré ensalzado.
11 -»Ustedes concibieron hierba seca, darán a luz rastrojo(X);
Mi[j] aliento como fuego los consumirá(Y).
12 -»Y los pueblos serán calcinados,
Como espinos cortados que son quemados en el fuego(Z).
13 ¶»Oigan, los que están lejos, lo que he hecho;
Y los que están cerca, reconozcan Mi poder(AA)».
14 Aterrados están los pecadores(AB) en Sión,
El temblor(AC) se ha apoderado de los impíos.
¿Quién de nosotros habitará con el fuego consumidor(AD)?
¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas(AE)?
15 El que anda en justicia y habla con sinceridad(AF),
El que rehúsa la ganancia injusta[k],
Y se sacude las manos[l] para que no retengan soborno;
El que se tapa los oídos para no oír del derramamiento de sangre,
Y cierra los ojos para no ver el mal(AG).
16 Ese morará en las alturas,
En la peña inconmovible[m] estará su refugio[n](AH);
Se le dará su pan,
Tendrá segura su agua(AI).
17 ¶Tus ojos contemplarán al Rey(AJ) en Su hermosura,
Verán una tierra muy lejana(AK).
18 Tu corazón meditará en el terror(AL), y dirá:
«¿Dónde está el que cuenta?
¿Dónde está el que pesa?
¿Dónde está(AM) el que cuenta las torres?».
19 No verás más al pueblo feroz,
Pueblo de habla incomprensible, que nadie entiende[o],
De lengua tartamuda, que nadie comprende[p](AN).
20 Contempla a Sión(AO), ciudad de nuestras fiestas señaladas.
Tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud(AP),
Tienda que no será plegada,
Cuyas estacas no serán arrancadas nunca más,
Ni rotas ninguna de sus cuerdas(AQ).
21 Porque allí, el Majestuoso, el Señor, será para nosotros
Lugar de ríos(AR) y de anchos canales,
Por donde no andará embarcación de remos,
Ni nave potente por él pasará.
22 Porque el Señor es nuestro juez(AS),
El Señor es nuestro legislador(AT),
El Señor es nuestro rey(AU);
Él nos salvará(AV).
23 Se han aflojado tus cuerdas;
No pueden sostener firme el mástil
Ni entesar la vela.
Entonces será repartida la presa de un abundante botín(AW).
Los cojos se llevarán los despojos(AX).
24 Ningún habitante dirá: «Estoy enfermo(AY)».
Al pueblo que allí[q] habita, le será perdonada su iniquidad(AZ).

33 Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2 O Lord, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
5 The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
9 The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
10 Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
18 Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.
20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21 But there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22 For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.
23 Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
