6 Vào năm Vua Ô-xia băng hà, tôi thấy CHÚA ngồi trên ngai cao cả, tôn quý; vạt áo Ngài đầy dẫy đền thờ. 2 Phía trên ngai có các sê-ra-phim đứng hầu. Mỗi sê-ra-phim có sáu cánh, hai cánh che mặt, hai cánh che chân và hai cánh để bay. 3 Các sê-ra-phim gọi nhau và hô lên:
“Thánh thay, thánh thay, thánh thay là CHÚA Vạn Quân,
Vinh quang Ngài đầy dẫy khắp đất.”
4 Vì tiếng hô, các then cài[a] nơi ngưỡng cửa rung chuyển, và đền đầy dẫy khói.
5 Tôi nói: “Khốn nạn cho tôi! Tôi chết mất! Vì tôi là người có môi bẩn thỉu, sống giữa một dân có môi bẩn thỉu; vì mắt tôi đã thấy Vua, tức là CHÚA Vạn Quân.” 6 Bấy giờ một trong các sê-ra-phim bay đến tôi, tay cầm than lửa đỏ đã dùng cặp gắp từ bàn thờ. 7 Sê-ra-phim đó sờ vào miệng tôi và bảo: “Này, cái này đã đụng đến môi ngươi; lỗi ngươi đã được xóa, tội ngươi đã được tha.”
8 Và tôi nghe tiếng Chúa phán: “Ta sẽ sai ai đi? Ai sẽ đi cho chúng ta?” Tôi thưa: “Dạ, có tôi đây, xin hãy sai tôi.”
9 Ngài phán: “Hãy đi và nói với dân này rằng:
‘Nghe thì cứ nghe, nhưng không hiểu;
Nhìn thì cứ nhìn nhưng không nhận biết.’
10 Hãy làm cho lòng dân này chai lì,[b]
Tai nặng,
Mắt nhắm,
E rằng mắt chúng nó thấy được,
Tai chúng nó nghe được,
Lòng chúng nó hiểu được
Và quay trở lại rồi được chữa lành.”

6 In the year that King Uzziah(A) died,(B) I saw the Lord,(C) high and exalted,(D) seated on a throne;(E) and the train of his robe(F) filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim,(G) each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet,(H) and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.(M)
5 “Woe(N) to me!” I cried. “I am ruined!(O) For I am a man of unclean lips,(P) and I live among a people of unclean lips,(Q) and my eyes have seen(R) the King,(S) the Lord Almighty.”(T)
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal(U) in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips;(V) your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.(W)”
8 Then I heard the voice(X) of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?(Y) And who will go for us?(Z)”
And I said, “Here am I.(AA) Send me!”
9 He said, “Go(AB) and tell this people:
“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’(AC)
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;(AD)
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.[a](AE)
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,(AF)
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”(AG)

6 Nell'anno in cui morì il re Ozia, io vidi il Signore seduto su un trono alto ed elevato; i lembi del suo manto riempivano il tempio. 2 Attorno a lui stavano dei serafini, ognuno aveva sei ali; con due si copriva la faccia, con due si copriva i piedi e con due volava. 3 Proclamavano l'uno all'altro:
«Santo, santo, santo è il Signore degli eserciti.
Tutta la terra è piena della sua gloria».
4 Vibravano gli stipiti delle porte alla voce di colui che gridava, mentre il tempio si riempiva di fumo. 5 E dissi:
«Ohimè! Io sono perduto,
perché un uomo dalle labbra impure io sono
e in mezzo a un popolo
dalle labbra impure io abito;
eppure i miei occhi hanno visto
il re, il Signore degli eserciti».
6 Allora uno dei serafini volò verso di me; teneva in mano un carbone ardente che aveva preso con le molle dall'altare. 7 Egli mi toccò la bocca e mi disse:
«Ecco, questo ha toccato le tue labbra,
perciò è scomparsa la tua iniquità
e il tuo peccato è espiato».
8 Poi io udii la voce del Signore che diceva: «Chi manderò e chi andrà per noi?». E io risposi: «Eccomi, manda me!». 9 Egli disse: «Và e riferisci a questo popolo:
Ascoltate pure, ma senza comprendere,
osservate pure, ma senza conoscere.
10 Rendi insensibile il cuore di questo popolo,
fallo duro d'orecchio e acceca i suoi occhi
e non veda con gli occhi
né oda con gli orecchi
né comprenda con il cuore
né si converta in modo da esser guarito».
