However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself (A)bore,
And our pains that He carried;
Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted,
Struck down by (B)God, and humiliated.
But He was [a]pierced for (C)our offenses,
He was crushed for (D)our wrongdoings;
The (E)punishment for our [b]well-being was laid upon Him,
And by (F)His wounds we are healed.
All of us, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the wrongdoing of us all
To [c]fall on Him.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
Yet He did not (G)open His mouth;
(H)Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off from the land of the [d]living
(I)For the wrongdoing of my people, to whom the blow was due?
And His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a (J)rich man in His death,
(K)Because He had (L)done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

10 But the Lord desired
To (M)crush Him, [e](N)causing Him grief;
If He renders [f]Himself as a guilt (O)offering,
He will see (P)His [g]offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the [h]good (Q)pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
11 As a result of the [i]anguish of His soul,
He will [j](R)see it and be satisfied;
By His (S)knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
For He will (T)bear their wrongdoings.
12 Therefore, I will allot Him a (U)portion with the great,
And He will divide the plunder with the strong,
Because He poured out His [k](V)life unto death,
And was (W)counted with wrongdoers;
Yet He Himself (X)bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the wrongdoers.

  1. Matthew 1:21 Lit He Himself

11 (A)I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd (B)lays down His life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand, and not a (C)shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters the flock. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and does not care about the sheep. 14 (D)I am the good shepherd, and (E)I know My own, and My own know Me, 15 just as (F)the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and (G)I lay down My life for the sheep.
