20 (A)And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations (B)as an offering to the Lord, on horses and in chariots and in litters and on mules and on dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

(A)And nations shall come to your light,
    and kings to the brightness of your rising.

(B)Lift up your eyes all around, and see;
    they all gather together, they come to you;
(C)your sons shall come from afar,
    and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.
Then you shall see and (D)be radiant;
    your heart shall thrill and exult,[a]
because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
    (E)the wealth of the nations shall come to you.
A multitude of camels shall cover you,
    the young camels of (F)Midian and (G)Ephah;
    all those from (H)Sheba shall come.
(I)They shall bring gold and frankincense,
    and shall bring good news, the praises of the Lord.
All the flocks of (J)Kedar shall be gathered to you;
    the rams of (K)Nebaioth shall minister to you;
(L)they shall come up with acceptance on my altar,
    (M)and I will beautify my beautiful house.

Who are these that fly like a cloud,
    and (N)like doves to their windows?
For (O)the coastlands shall hope for me,
    (P)the ships of Tarshish first,
(Q)to bring your children from afar,
    their silver and gold with them,
for the name of the Lord your God,
    and for the Holy One of Israel,
    because (R)he has made you beautiful.

10 (S)Foreigners shall build up your walls,
    and (T)their kings shall minister to you;
for in my wrath I struck you,
    but in my favor I have had mercy on you.
11 (U)Your gates shall be open continually;
    day and night they shall not be shut,
(V)that people may bring to you the wealth of the nations,
    with their kings led in procession.
12 (W)For the nation and kingdom
    that will not serve you shall perish;
    those nations shall be utterly laid waste.
13 (X)The glory of Lebanon shall come to you,
    the cypress, the plane, and (Y)the pine,
to beautify the place of my sanctuary,
    and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
14 (Z)The sons of those who afflicted you
    shall come bending low to you,
(AA)and all who despised you
    shall bow down at your feet;
(AB)they shall call you the City of the Lord,
    the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

12 (A)Behold, these shall come from afar,

13 (C)Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;
    break forth, O mountains, into singing!
For the Lord (D)has comforted his people
    and will have compassion on his afflicted.

14 But Zion said, (E)“The Lord has forsaken me;
    my Lord has forgotten me.”

15 (F)“Can a woman forget her nursing child,
    that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
    yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, (G)I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
    your walls are continually before me.
17 Your builders make haste;[c]
    (H)your destroyers and those who laid you waste go out from you.
18 (I)Lift up your eyes around and see;
    they all gather, they come to you.
(J)As I live, declares the Lord,
    (K)you shall put them all on as an ornament;
    you shall bind them on as a bride does.

19 “Surely your waste and your desolate places
    and your devastated land—
(L)surely now you will be too narrow for your inhabitants,
    and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
20 (M)The children of your bereavement
    will yet say in your ears:
(N)‘The place is too narrow for me;
    make room for me to dwell in.’
21 Then you will say in your heart:
    ‘Who has borne me these?
(O)I was bereaved and barren,
    exiled and put away,
    but who has brought up these?
Behold, I was left alone;
    from where have these come?’”

22 Thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations,
    (P)and raise my signal to the peoples;
(Q)and they shall bring your sons in their arms,[d]
    and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23 (R)Kings shall be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.
(S)With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you,
    and (T)lick the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;
    (U)those who wait for me (V)shall not be put to shame.”

24 Can the prey be taken from the mighty,
    or the captives of a tyrant[e] be rescued?
25 For thus says the Lord:
(W)“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
    and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
    and I will save your children.
26 (X)I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,
    and they shall be drunk (Y)with their own blood as with wine.
Then all flesh shall know
    that (Z)I am the Lord your Savior,
    and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
