^17 (A)“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, ^(B)eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord.

¹¹ But ^(A)stretch out your hand and ^(B)touch all that he has, and he will ^(C)curse you ^(D)to your face.”

³⁰ For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight ^(A)from their youth. The children of Israel have done nothing but ^(B)provoke me to anger ^(C)by the work of their hands, declares the Lord. ³¹ This city has aroused my anger and wrath, from the day it was built to this day, ^(D)so that I will remove it from my sight ³² because of all the evil of the children of Israel and the children of Judah that they did to provoke me to anger—^(E)their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. ^33 (F)They have turned to me their back and not their face. And though I have taught them ^(G)persistently, they have not listened ^(H)to receive instruction. ³⁴ They set up ^(I)their abominations in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. ³⁵ They built the high places of Baal ^(J)in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, ^(K)to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, ^(L)though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do ^(M)this abomination, ^(N)to cause Judah to sin.

⁵ But ^(A)stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will ^(B)curse you to your face.”

¹⁴ But they would not listen, ^(A)but were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the Lord their God. ¹⁵ They despised his statutes ^(B)and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. They went after ^(C)false idols ^(D)and became false, and they followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom the ^(E)Lord had commanded them that they should not do like them. ¹⁶ And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of ^(F)two calves; and they ^(G)made an Asherah and ^(H)worshiped all the host of heaven and served ^(I)Baal. ^17 (J)And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings^[a] and used ^(K)divination and ^(L)omens and ^(M)sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.
