Treasure in Clay Jars

⁷ Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power^(A) may be from God and not from us.

¹⁵ For^[a] both circumcision and uncircumcision^(A) mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation.^(B)

²⁰ Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels,^(A) but also those of wood and clay; some for honorable^[a] use and some for dishonorable.^{[b](B) 21} So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable,^[c] he will be a special^[d] instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.^(C)

⁶ He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus,^(A)

⁷ so that in the coming ages^(A) he might display the immeasurable riches^(B) of his grace through his kindness^(C) to us in Christ Jesus.

²⁰ built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,^(A) with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. ²¹ In him the whole building, being put together,^(B) grows into a holy temple in the Lord.^{(C) 22} In him you are also being built together^(D) for God’s dwelling^(E) in the Spirit.

⁹ and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created^(A) all things. ¹⁰ This is so that God’s multi-faceted wisdom^(B) may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.^{(C) 11} This is according to his eternal purpose^(D) accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
