⁴ Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.

⁸ The Temple was filled with smoke from God’s glory and power. No one could enter the Temple until the seven angels had completed pouring out the seven plagues.

A Vision of God at the Altar

9 Then I saw a vision of the Lord standing beside the altar. He said,

¹⁹ Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.

⁵ The moving wings of the cherubim sounded like the voice of God Almighty^[a] and could be heard even in the outer courtyard.

²⁴ As they flew, their wings sounded to me like waves crashing against the shore or like the voice of the Almighty^[a] or like the shouting of a mighty army. When they stopped, they let down their wings.

¹³ The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words:

At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. ¹⁴ The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God.

Solomon Praises the Lord

6 Then Solomon prayed, “O Lord, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness.

¹⁰ When the priests came out of the Holy Place, a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. ¹¹ The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of the Lord.

¹² Then Solomon prayed, “O Lord, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness.

The Lord’s Glory Fills the Tabernacle

³⁴ Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
