⁴ At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.^(A)

⁸ And the temple was filled with smoke^(A) from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple^(B) until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

Israel to Be Destroyed

9 I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and he said:

⁵ The sound of the wings of the cherubim could be heard as far away as the outer court, like the voice^(A) of God Almighty^[a] when he speaks.^(B)

¹⁹ Then God’s temple^(A) in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant.^(B) And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder,^(C) an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.^(D)

²⁴ When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing^(A) waters, like the voice^(B) of the Almighty,^[a] like the tumult of an army.^(C) When they stood still, they lowered their wings.

¹³ The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang:

Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud,^{(B) 14} and the priests could not perform^(C) their service because of the cloud,^(D) for the glory^(E) of the Lord filled the temple of God.

6 Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud;^(F)

¹⁰ When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud^(A) filled the temple of the Lord. ¹¹ And the priests could not perform their service^(B) because of the cloud, for the glory^(C) of the Lord filled his temple.
