⁸ Then your light will break forth like the dawn,^(A)
    and your healing^(B) will quickly appear;
then your righteousness^[a](C) will go before you,
    and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.^(D)

¹² But you will not leave in haste^(A)
    or go in flight;
for the Lord will go before you,^(B)
    the God of Israel will be your rear guard.^(C)

⁶ He will make your righteous reward^(A) shine like the dawn,^(B)
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

¹⁷ But I will restore you to health
    and heal^(A) your wounds,’
declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast,^(B)
    Zion for whom no one cares.’^(C)

¹³ Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

¹⁰ and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
    and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,^(A)
then your light^(B) will rise in the darkness,
    and your night will become like the noonday.^(C)
11 The Lord will guide^(D) you always;
    he will satisfy your needs^(E) in a sun-scorched land^(F)
    and will strengthen^(G) your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,^(H)
    like a spring^(I) whose waters never fail.
