¹⁰ if you offer your food to the hungry
    and satisfy the needs of the afflicted,
then your light shall rise in the darkness
    and your gloom be like the noonday.^(A)

²⁴ Some give freely yet grow all the richer;
    others withhold what is due and only suffer want.^(A)
25 A generous person will be enriched,
    and one who gives water will get water.^(B)

⁷ Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
    and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover them
    and not to hide yourself from your own kin?^(A)
8 Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,
    and your healing shall spring up quickly;
your vindicator^[a] shall go before you;
    the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.^(B)

¹⁶ I will lead the blind
    by a road they do not know;
by paths they have not known
    I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
    the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I will do,
    and I will not forsake them.^(A)

¹⁷ And your life will be brighter than the noonday;
    its darkness will be like the morning.^(A)

⁶ He will make your vindication shine like the light
    and the justice of your cause like the noonday.^(A)

⁵ It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.
⁶ For the righteous will never be moved;
    they will be remembered forever.^(A)
7 They are not afraid of evil tidings;
    their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.^(B)
8 Their hearts are steady; they will not be afraid;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.^(C)
9 They have distributed freely; they have given to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn is exalted in honor.^(D)
