¹⁸ Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,^(A) so also one righteous act resulted in justification^(B) and life^(C) for all people. ¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man^(D) the many were made sinners,^(E) so also through the obedience^(F) of the one man the many will be made righteous.

²⁴ “He himself bore our sins”^(A) in his body on the cross,^(B) so that we might die to sins^(C) and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”^(D)

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying:^(A)

²⁷ “Now my soul is troubled,^(A) and what shall I say? ‘Father,^(B) save me from this hour’?^(C) No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify your name!”

Then a voice came from heaven,^(D) “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” ²⁹ The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.

³⁰ Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit,^(E) not mine. ³¹ Now is the time for judgment on this world;^(F) now the prince of this world^(G) will be driven out. ³² And I, when I am lifted up^[a] from the earth,^(H) will draw all people to myself.”^(I)

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once^(A) for sins,^(B) the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.^(C) He was put to death in the body^(D) but made alive in the Spirit.^(E)

² fixing our eyes on Jesus,^(A) the pioneer^(B) and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,^(C) scorning its shame,^(D) and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.^(E)

²⁴ but also for us,^(A) to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him^(B) who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.^{(C) 25} He was delivered over to death for our sins^(D) and was raised to life for our justification.^(E)

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified^(F) through faith,^(G) we^[a] have peace^(H) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^(I)
