⁷ “Son of man, I have made you a watchman^(A) for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.^(B)

⁸ On that day the Lord will shield^(A) those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest^(B) among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God,^(C) like the angel of the Lord going before^(D) them.

Restoration of Israel’s Remnant

¹⁷ “Son of man, I have made you a watchman^(A) for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.^(B)

¹¹ the sounds of joy and gladness,^(A) the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings^(B) to the house of the Lord, saying,

For I will restore the fortunes^(E) of the land as they were before,^(F)’ says the Lord.

³⁹ I will give them singleness^(A) of heart and action, so that they will always fear^(B) me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them.
