Isaiah 51:3-11

New International Version

⁴ “Listen to me, my people;^(H)
    hear me,^(I) my nation:
Instruction^(J) will go out from me;
    my justice^(K) will become a light to the nations.^(L)
5 My righteousness draws near speedily,
    my salvation^(M) is on the way,^(N)
    and my arm^(O) will bring justice to the nations.
The islands^(P) will look to me
    and wait in hope^(Q) for my arm.
⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
    look at the earth beneath;
the heavens will vanish like smoke,^(R)
    the earth will wear out like a garment^(S)
    and its inhabitants die like flies.
But my salvation^(T) will last forever,^(U)
    my righteousness will never fail.^(V)

⁷ “Hear me, you who know what is right,^(W)
    you people who have taken my instruction to heart:^(X)
Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals
    or be terrified by their insults.^(Y)
8 For the moth will eat them up like a garment;^(Z)
    the worm^(AA) will devour them like wool.
But my righteousness will last forever,^(AB)
    my salvation through all generations.”

⁹ Awake, awake,^(AC) arm^(AD) of the Lord,
    clothe yourself with strength!^(AE)
Awake, as in days gone by,
    as in generations of old.^(AF)
Was it not you who cut Rahab^(AG) to pieces,
    who pierced that monster^(AH) through?
¹⁰ Was it not you who dried up the sea,^(AI)
    the waters of the great deep,^(AJ)
who made a road in the depths of the sea^(AK)
    so that the redeemed^(AL) might cross over?
¹¹ Those the Lord has rescued^(AM) will return.
    They will enter Zion with singing;^(AN)
    everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy^(AO) will overtake them,
    and sorrow and sighing will flee away.^(AP)
