²¹ “As^(A) for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”

⁸ For I have given to them the words ^(A)which You have given Me; and they have received them, ^(B)and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that ^(C)You sent Me.

^18 (A)I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and ^(B)will put My words in His mouth, ^(C)and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

^33 (A)But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: ^(B)I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their ^[a]hearts; ^(C)and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

^38 (A)I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have ^[a]seen with your father.”

³⁹ They answered and said to Him, ^(B)“Abraham is our father.”

Jesus said to them, ^(C)“If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. ^40 (D)But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth ^(E)which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
