Isaiah 44:28-45:7

²⁸ It is I who says of ^(A)Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he will carry out all My desire.’
And ^[a]he says of Jerusalem, ‘^(B)She will be built,’
And of the temple, ‘^[b]Your foundation will be laid.’”

45 This is what the Lord says to ^(C)Cyrus His anointed,
Whom I have taken by the right ^(D)hand,
To ^(E)subdue nations before him
And ^[c]to ^(F)undo the weapons belt on the waist of kings;
To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:
² “I will go before you and ^(G)make the ^[d]rough places smooth;
I will ^(H)shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron ^(I)bars.
³ I will give you the ^[e](J)treasures of darkness
And hidden wealth of secret places,
So that you may know that it is I,
The Lord, the God of Israel, who ^(K)calls you by your name.
⁴ For the sake of ^(L)Jacob My servant,
And Israel My chosen one,
I have also ^(M)called you by your name;
I have given you a title of honor
Though you have ^(N)not known Me.
⁵ I am the Lord, and ^(O)there is no one else;
^(P)There is no God except Me.
I will ^[f](Q)arm you, though you have not known Me,
⁶ So that ^(R)people may know from the rising to the setting of the sun
That there is ^(S)no one besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no one else,
⁷ The One ^(T)forming light and ^(U)creating darkness,
Causing ^[g]well-being and ^(V)creating disaster;
I am the Lord who does all these things.
