⁶ “For ^(A)you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be ^(B)a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. ⁷ It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, ⁸ but ^(C)it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping ^(D)the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹ But you are ^(A)a chosen race, ^(B)a royal ^(C)priesthood, ^(D)a holy nation, ^(E)a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^(F)out of darkness into ^(G)his marvelous light.

^2 (A)And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

⁹ Behold, I will make those of ^(A)the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, ^(B)I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that ^(C)I have loved you.

^23 (A)I in them and you in me, ^(B)that they may become perfectly one, ^(C)so that the world may know that you sent me and ^(D)loved them even as ^(E)you loved me.

^27 (A)for the Father himself loves you, because ^(B)you have loved me and ^(C)have believed that I came from God.^[a]
