⁶ “I am the Lord; ^(A)I have called you^[a] in righteousness;
    I will take you by the hand and keep you;
I will give you ^(B)as a covenant for the people,
    ^(C)a light for the nations,

^32 (A)a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
    and ^(B)for glory to ^(C)your people Israel.”

⁸ Thus says the Lord:
^(A)“In a ^(B)time of favor I have answered you;
    in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you ^(C)and give you
    as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
    ^(D)to apportion the desolate heritages,

⁶ he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
    to raise up the tribes of Jacob
    and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
^(A)I will make you ^(B)as a light for the nations,
    that ^(C)my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

60 ^(A)Arise, shine, for your light has come,
    and ^(B)the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
² For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
    and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
    and his glory will be seen upon you.
^3 (C)And nations shall come to your light,
    and kings to the brightness of your rising.
