¹⁵ Thus says the Lord God to Tyre: Shall not the coastlands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when slaughter goes on within you?^{(A) 16} Then all the princes of the sea shall step down from their thrones; they shall remove their robes and strip off their embroidered garments. They shall clothe themselves with trembling and shall sit on the ground; they shall tremble every moment and be appalled at you.^(B)

The New Generation Circumcised

5 ^[a]When all the kings of the Amorites beyond the Jordan to the west and all the kings of the Canaanites by the sea heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted, and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the Israelites.^(A)

¹⁰ For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea^[a] before you when you came out of Egypt and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.^(A)

⁵ From these the coastland peoples spread. These are the descendants of Japheth^[a] in their lands, with their own language, by their families, in their nations.^(A)
