⁸ Then the Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he heard that he had departed from Lachish.

²⁹ Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, to ^(A)Libnah; and they fought against Libnah.

¹⁰ Thus Edom has been in revolt against Judah’s authority to this day. At that time Libnah revolted against his rule, because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.

⁸ Then the Rabshakeh returned and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he heard that he had departed ^(B)from Lachish. ⁹ And ^(C)the king heard concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “Look, he has come out to make war with you.” So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

²² Thus Edom has been in revolt against Judah’s authority to this day. ^(A)And Libnah revolted at that time.

¹³ Thus ^(A)to the children of Aaron the priest they gave ^(B)Hebron with its common-land (a city of refuge for the slayer), ^(C)Libnah with its common-land,

^39 (A)Lachish, Bozkath, ^(B)Eglon,

¹¹ the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;

³¹ Then Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, to Lachish; and they encamped against it and fought against it. ³² And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, who took it on the second day, and struck it and all the people who were in it with the edge of the sword, according to all that he had done to Libnah. ³³ Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua struck him and his people, until he left him none remaining.

³⁴ From Lachish Joshua passed to Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it and fought against it.

²⁰ They departed from Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah. ²¹ They moved from Libnah and camped at Rissah.
