³⁵ “I will defend^(A) this city and save it,
    for my sake^(B) and for the sake of David^(C) my servant!”

⁵ Like birds hovering^(A) overhead,
    the Lord Almighty will shield^(B) Jerusalem;
he will shield it and deliver^(C) it,
    he will ‘pass over’^(D) it and will rescue it.”

²⁵ “I, even I, am he who blots out
    your transgressions,^(A) for my own sake,^(B)
    and remembers your sins^(C) no more.^(D)

    I will make a righteous^(A) Branch^(B) sprout from David’s line;^(C)
    he will do what is just and right in the land.

⁹ Instead, they will serve the Lord their God

    whom I will raise up for them.

a King^(B) who will reign^(C) wisely
    and do what is just and right^(D) in the land.
