³¹ And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah ^(A)shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

^30 (A)And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. ³¹ For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion ^(B)a band of survivors. ^(C)The zeal of the Lord will do this.

⁵ So too at the present time there is ^(A)a remnant, chosen by grace.

²⁷ And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: ^(A)“Though the number of the sons of Israel^[a] be as the sand of the sea, ^(B)only a remnant of them will be saved,

The Remnant of Israel Will Return

^20 (A)In that day ^(B)the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more ^(C)lean on him who struck them, but ^(D)will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, ^(E)to the mighty God. ^22 (F)For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, ^(G)only a remnant of them will return. ^(H)Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.

²⁹ And ^(A)if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, ^(B)heirs according to promise.

^28 (A)And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, ^(B)few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who came to the land of Egypt to live, ^(C)shall know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.
