13 Espinos crecerán en sus palacios[a](A),
Ortigas y cardos en sus ciudades fortificadas[b].
Será también guarida de chacales(B)
Y morada[c] de crías de avestruz.
14 Las fieras del desierto se encontrarán con las hienas[d],
El macho cabrío[e](C) llamará a los de su especie.
Sí, el monstruo nocturno[f] se establecerá allí,
Y encontrará para sí lugar de reposo.
15 Allí la serpiente anidará y pondrá sus huevos,
Los incubará y juntará su cría bajo su sombra.
También allí se juntarán los halcones[g](D),
Cada uno con su compañera.

13 Thorns(A) will overrun her citadels,
nettles and brambles her strongholds.(B)
She will become a haunt for jackals,(C)
a home for owls.(D)
14 Desert creatures(E) will meet with hyenas,(F)
and wild goats will bleat to each other;
there the night creatures(G) will also lie down
and find for themselves places of rest.
15 The owl will nest there and lay eggs,
she will hatch them, and care for her young
under the shadow of her wings;(H)
there also the falcons(I) will gather,
each with its mate.
