⁴ so shall the ^(A)king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians as prisoners and the Ethiopians as captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, ^(B)with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

⁴³ Then the priest shall examine it; and indeed if the swelling of the sore is reddish-white on his bald head or on his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy on the skin of the body, ⁴⁴ he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The priest shall surely pronounce him ^[a]unclean; his sore is on his ^(A)head.

²⁹ “If a man or woman has a sore on the head or the beard, ³⁰ then the priest shall examine the sore; and indeed if it appears deeper than the skin, and there is in it thin yellow hair, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a scaly leprosy of the head or beard.

First Bowl: Loathsome Sores

² So the first went and poured out his bowl ^(A)upon the earth, and a ^[a]foul and ^(B)loathsome sore came upon the men ^(C)who had the mark of the beast and those ^(D)who worshiped his image.

²⁸ “For thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hand of ^(E)those you hate, into the hand of those ^(F)from whom you alienated yourself. ^29 (G)They will deal hatefully with you, take away all you have worked for, and ^(H)leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your harlotry.
