⁴ “Come^(A) to Bethel and transgress,
At ^(B)Gilgal multiply transgression;
^(C)Bring your sacrifices every morning,
^(D)Your tithes every three ^[a]days.
^5 (E)Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven,
Proclaim and announce ^(F)the freewill offerings;
For this you love,
You children of Israel!”
Says the Lord God.

⁶ With what shall I come before the Lord,
And bow myself before the High God?
Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings,
With calves a year old?
^7 (A)Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
Ten thousand ^(B)rivers of oil?
^(C)Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
^[a]The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁶ “With their flocks and herds
^(A)They shall go to seek the Lord,
But they will not find Him;
He has withdrawn Himself from them.

³ “He^(A) who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he ^(B)breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,
