¹⁵ From that day Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the lifetime of one king. At the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song about the prostitute:^(A)

²² all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastland across the sea;^(A)

¹⁰ of whom five have fallen, one is living, and the other has not yet come, and when he comes he must remain only a little while.

²¹ The male goat^[a] is the king of Greece, and the great horn between its eyes is the first king.^(A)

¹¹ No human foot shall pass through it, and no animal foot shall pass through it; it shall be uninhabited forty years.^(A)

²⁵ The ships of Tarshish traveled for you in your trade.

¹⁰ For thus says the Lord: Only when Babylon’s seventy years are completed will I visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place.^(A)

³ Send them to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon by the hand of the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to King Zedekiah of Judah.^{(A) 4} Give them this charge for their masters: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: This is what you shall say to your masters: ⁵ It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the people and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever I please.^{(B) 6} Now I have given all these lands into the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, my servant, and I have given him even the wild animals of the field to serve him.^{(C) 7} All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson, until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.^(D)
