² As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
    so the Lord surrounds his people
    from this time on and forevermore.^(A)

¹² Let the nations rouse themselves
    and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat,
for there I will sit to judge
    all the neighboring nations.^(A)

³ in the streets they bind on sackcloth;
    on the housetops and in the squares
    everyone wails and melts in tears.^(A)

⁶ Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision,
    and darkness to you, without revelation.
The sun shall go down upon the prophets,
    and the day shall be black over them;^(A)
