^8 (A)Their land is also full of idols;
They worship the work of their own hands,
That which their own fingers have made.

²⁸ But ^(A)where are your gods that you have made for yourselves?
Let them arise,
If they ^(B)can save you in the time of your ^[a]trouble;
For ^(C)according to the number of your cities
Are your gods, O Judah.

^4 (A)Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
⁵ They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
⁶ They have ears, but they do not hear;
Noses they have, but they do not smell;
⁷ They have hands, but they do not handle;
Feet they have, but they do not walk;
Nor do they mutter through their throat.
^8 (B)Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.

³ Assyria shall ^(A)not save us,
^(B)We will not ride on horses,
Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, ‘You are our gods.’
^(C)For in You the fatherless finds mercy.”

² Now they sin more and more,
And have made for themselves molded images,
Idols of their silver, according to their skill;
All of it is the work of craftsmen.
They say of them,
“Let ^[a]the men who sacrifice ^[b]kiss the calves!”
