¹¹ The eyes of the arrogant^(A) will be humbled^(B)
    and human pride^(C) brought low;^(D)
the Lord alone will be exalted^(E) in that day.^(F)

¹⁵ So people will be brought low^(A)
    and everyone humbled,^(B)
    the eyes of the arrogant^(C) humbled.
¹⁶ But the Lord Almighty will be exalted^(D) by his justice,^(E)
    and the holy God will be proved holy^(F) by his righteous acts.

²⁷ You save the humble^(A)
    but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.^(B)

²¹ In that day^(A) the Lord will punish^(B)
    the powers^(C) in the heavens above
    and the kings^(D) on the earth below.

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;^(B)
    make known among the nations^(C) what he has done,
    and proclaim that his name is exalted.^(D)

“I will gather the lame;^(A)
    I will assemble the exiles^(B)
    and those I have brought to grief.^(C)

¹⁸ In that day I will make a covenant for them
    with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
    and the creatures that move along the ground.^(A)
Bow and sword and battle
    I will abolish^(B) from the land,
    so that all may lie down in safety.^(C)

³¹ “See, I am against^(A) you, you arrogant one,”
    declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty,
“for your day^(B) has come,
    the time for you to be punished.
³² The arrogant^(C) one will stumble and fall^(D)
    and no one will help her up;^(E)
I will kindle a fire^(F) in her towns
    that will consume all who are around her.”
