²¹ Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will ^(A)know the Lord in that day, and ^(B)will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of ^(A)darkness into His marvelous light;

⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Fears for the Church

⁸ But then, indeed, ^(A)when you did not know God, ^(B)you served those which by nature are not gods. ⁹ But now ^(C)after you have known God, or rather are known by God, ^(D)how is it that you turn again to ^(E)the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?

²⁷ It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For ^(A)if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, ^(B)their duty is also to minister to them in material things. ²⁸ Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them ^(C)this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain.

³ And ^(A)this is eternal life, that they may know You, ^(B)the only true God, and Jesus Christ ^(C)whom You have sent.

²¹ Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming ^(A)when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. ²² You worship ^(B)what you do not know; we know what we worship, for ^(C)salvation is of the Jews. ²³ But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will ^(D)worship the Father in ^(E)spirit ^(F)and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. ^24 (G)God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
