²¹ The Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians will know the Lord on that day and will serve with sacrifice and offerings, and they will make vows to the Lord and perform them.^(A)

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name and a pure offering, for my name is great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.^(A)

⁹ But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people,^[a] in order that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.^(A)

⁵ like living stones let yourselves be built^[a] into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.^(A)

Paul Reproves the Galatians

⁸ Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods.^{(A) 9} Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental principles?^[a] How can you want to be enslaved to them again?^(B)

²⁷ They were pleased to do this, and indeed they owe it to them, for if the gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material things.^{(A) 28} So, when I have completed this and have delivered to them what has been collected,^[a] I will set out by way of you to Spain,

³ And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.^(A)

²¹ Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you^[a] will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.^{(A) 22} You^[b] worship what you^[c] do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.^{(B) 23} But the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him.^{(C) 24} God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”^(D)
