^12 (A)Where are they?
Where are your wise men?
Let them tell you now,
And let them know what the Lord of hosts has ^(B)purposed against Egypt.

²⁸ But ^(A)where are your gods that you have made for yourselves?
Let them arise,
If they ^(B)can save you in the time of your ^[a]trouble;
For ^(C)according to the number of your cities
Are your gods, O Judah.

⁷ And ^(A)who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.

²² “Let^(A) them bring forth and show us what will happen;
Let them show the ^(B)former things, what they were,
That we may ^[a]consider them,
And know the latter end of them;
Or declare to us things to come.
^23 (C)Show the things that are to come hereafter,
That we may know that you are gods;
Yes, ^(D)do good or do evil,
That we may be dismayed and see it together.

^13 (A)Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord,
Or as His counselor has taught Him?
¹⁴ With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him,
And ^(B)taught Him in the path of justice?
Who taught Him knowledge,
And showed Him the way of understanding?
