^10 (A)And it grew up to ^(B)the host of heaven; and ^(C)it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. ^11 (D)He even exalted himself as high as ^(E)the Prince of the host; ^(F)and by him ^(G)the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of ^[a]His sanctuary was cast down. ¹² Because of transgression, ^(H)an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast ^(I)truth down to the ground. He ^(J)did all this and prospered.

² “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

¹² “Son of man, ^(A)take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

⁴ who opposes and ^(A)exalts himself ^(B)above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits ^[a]as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

²² “But you his son, Belshazzar, ^(A)have not humbled your heart, although you knew all this. ^23 (B)And you have ^[a]lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the ^(C)vessels of ^[b]His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, ^(D)which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand ^(E)and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

³ Speak, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

²³ And you, Capernaum, ^(A)who^[a] are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
