¹² I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,
A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

4 And ^(A)in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying,
“We will ^(B)eat our own food and wear our own apparel;
Only let us be called by your name,
To take away ^(C)our reproach.”

⁶ Therefore ^(A)the curse has devoured the earth,
And those who dwell in it are ^[a]desolate.
Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are ^(B)burned,
And few men are left.

⁹ Happy the one who takes and ^(A)dashes
Your little ones against the rock!

¹⁶ It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir,
In precious onyx or sapphire.

¹⁵ Everyone who is found will be thrust through,
And everyone who is captured will fall by the sword.
¹⁶ Their children also will be ^(A)dashed to pieces before their eyes;
Their houses will be plundered
And their wives ^(B)ravished.
