The Good News of Salvation

¹³ However, when He, ^(A)the Spirit of truth, has come, ^(B)He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, ^18 (C)the eyes of your ^[a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is ^(D)the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

The Servant of the Lord

⁸ who also declared to us your ^(A)love in the Spirit.

Preeminence of Christ

^9 (B)For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask ^(C)that you may be filled with ^(D)the knowledge of His will ^(E)in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

^16 (A)When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and ^[a]He saw ^(B)the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

⁷ For ^(A)God has not given us a spirit of fear, ^(B)but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

¹⁷ But ^(A)the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, ^(B)without partiality ^(C)and without hypocrisy. ^18 (D)Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
