Primer mensaje de Isaías a Ahaz
7 El rey de Siria, Resín, y el rey de Israel, Pécah, hijo de Remalías, atacaron a Jerusalén y quisieron conquistarla, pero no pudieron. Esto sucedió cuando Ahaz, hijo de Jotam y nieto de Ozías, era rey de Judá. 2 En esa ocasión llevaron esta noticia al rey Ahaz y a su familia: «Los sirios se han aliado con Efraín.» El rey y el pueblo empezaron a temblar como tiemblan los árboles del bosque cuando sopla el viento.
3 Entonces el Señor dijo a Isaías: «Toma a tu hijo Sear-iasub y ve a encontrarte con el rey Ahaz en el extremo del canal del estanque superior, en el camino que va al campo del Lavador de Paños, 4 y dile:
“Ten cuidado, pero no te asustes;
no tengas miedo ni te acobardes
por esos dos tizones humeantes,
Resín con sus sirios, y el hijo de Remalías,
que están ardiendo en furor.
5 Los sirios, con el pueblo de Efraín y el hijo de Remalías,
han tramado hacerte mal.
Han dicho:
6 Invadamos Judá y metámosle miedo;
apoderémonos de ella
y pongamos por rey al hijo de Tabeel.
7 Pero el Señor dice:
¡Eso jamás sucederá!
8-9 Damasco es la capital de Siria,
y Resín es el rey de Damasco;
Samaria es la capital de Efraín,
y el hijo de Remalías es el rey de Samaria;
pero dentro de sesenta y cinco años
Efraín dejará de ser nación;
y si ustedes no tienen una fe firme,
tampoco quedarán firmemente en pie.”»

10 El Señor dijo también a Ahaz: 11 «Pide al Señor tu Dios que haga un milagro que te sirva de señal, ya sea abajo en lo más profundo o arriba en lo más alto.»
12 Ahaz contestó: «No, yo no voy a poner a prueba al Señor pidiéndole una señal.»
13 Entonces Isaías dijo:
«Escuchen ustedes, los de la casa real de David.
¿Les parece poco molestar a los hombres,
que quieren también molestar a mi Dios?
14 Pues el Señor mismo les va a dar una señal:
La joven está encinta
y va a tener un hijo,
al que pondrá por nombre Emanuel.
15 En los primeros años de vida del niño,
se comerá leche cuajada y miel.
16 Pero antes de que el niño tenga uso de razón,
el país de los dos reyes que te causan miedo
quedará abandonado.
17 »El Señor hará venir sobre ti,
sobre tu pueblo y la casa real,
días como no habían venido
desde que Efraín se separó de Judá.»
(Esto se refiere al rey de Asiria.)
18 En ese tiempo el Señor hará venir como moscas
a los que viven en los lejanos ríos de Egipto,
y hará venir como abejas
a los que viven en Asiria.
19 Todos ellos vendrán a instalarse
en las cañadas profundas
y en las cuevas de las rocas,
en todos los matorrales espinosos
y en los sitios donde bebe el ganado.
20 En ese día el Señor usará al rey de Asiria
como navaja alquilada más allá del río Éufrates,
y les afeitará a los israelitas
la cabeza, la barba y la parte inferior del cuerpo.
21 En ese tiempo, el que críe una vaca y dos ovejas 22 tendrá tanta leche que podrá comer leche cuajada. Y todos los que se salven de la destrucción en el país podrán comer leche cuajada y miel.
23 En ese tiempo, lo que antes era un viñedo con mil plantas y valía mil monedas de plata, quedará convertido en espinos y matorrales. 24 Sólo se podrá entrar allí con arco y flechas para cazar, porque todo el país quedará convertido en espinos y matorrales. 25 En las colinas que antes se cultivaban con azadón, habrá tantos espinos y matorrales que nadie irá a ellas. Sólo servirán como pastizal para los bueyes y las ovejas.

7 烏西雅的孫子、約坦的兒子猶大王亞哈斯在位的時候，亞蘭王利汛和利瑪利的兒子以色列王比加，上來攻打耶路撒冷，卻不能攻取。 2 有人告訴大衛家說：「亞蘭與以法蓮已經同盟。」王的心和百姓的心就都跳動，好像林中的樹被風吹動一樣。

3 耶和華對以賽亞說：「你和你的兒子施亞雅述出去，到上池的水溝頭，在漂布地的大路上，去迎接亞哈斯， 4 對他說：『你要謹慎安靜，不要因亞蘭王利汛和利瑪利的兒子這兩個冒煙的火把頭所發的烈怒害怕，也不要心裡膽怯。 5 因為亞蘭和以法蓮，並利瑪利的兒子設惡謀害你， 6 說：「我們可以上去攻擊猶大，擾亂他，攻破他，在其中立他比勒的兒子為王」， 7 所以主耶和華如此說：「這所謀的必立不住，也不得成就。 8 原來亞蘭的首城是大馬士革，大馬士革的首領是利汛。六十五年之內，以法蓮必然破壞，不再成為國民。 9 以法蓮的首城是撒馬利亞，撒馬利亞的首領是利瑪利的兒子。你們若是不信，定然不得立穩。」』」
預言童女生子為兆
10 耶和華又曉諭亞哈斯說： 11 「你向耶和華你的神求一個兆頭，或求顯在深處，或求顯在高處。」 12 亞哈斯說：「我不求，我不試探耶和華。」 13 以賽亞說：「大衛家啊，你們當聽！你們使人厭煩豈算小事？還要使我的神厭煩嗎？ 14 因此，主自己要給你們一個兆頭，必有童女懷孕生子，給他起名叫以馬內利[a]。 15 到他曉得棄惡擇善的時候，他必吃奶油與蜂蜜。 16 因為在這孩子還不曉得棄惡擇善之先，你所憎惡的那二王之地必致見棄。 17 耶和華必使亞述王攻擊你的日子臨到你和你的百姓並你的父家，自從以法蓮離開猶大以來，未曾有這樣的日子。
18 「那時，耶和華要發嘶聲，使埃及江河源頭的蒼蠅和亞述地的蜂子飛來。 19 都必飛來，落在荒涼的谷內，磐石的穴裡，和一切荊棘籬笆中，並一切的草場上。
20 「那時，主必用大河外賃的剃頭刀，就是亞述王，剃去頭髮和腳上的毛，並要剃淨鬍鬚。
21 「那時，一個人要養活一隻母牛犢，兩隻母綿羊。 22 因為出的奶多，他就得吃奶油。在境內所剩的人，都要吃奶油與蜂蜜。
23 「從前凡種一千棵葡萄樹，值銀一千舍客勒的地方，到那時，必長荊棘和蒺藜。 24 人上那裡去，必帶弓箭，因為遍地滿了荊棘和蒺藜。 25 所有用鋤刨挖的山地，你因怕荊棘和蒺藜，不敢上那裡去，只可成了放牛之處，為羊踐踏之地。」

7 When Ahaz(A) son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin(B) of Aram(C) and Pekah(D) son of Remaliah(E) king of Israel marched up to fight against Jerusalem, but they could not overpower it.
2 Now the house of David(F) was told, “Aram has allied itself with[a] Ephraim(G)”; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken,(H) as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.
3 Then the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out, you and your son Shear-Jashub,[b](I) to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field.(J) 4 Say to him, ‘Be careful, keep calm(K) and don’t be afraid.(L) Do not lose heart(M) because of these two smoldering stubs(N) of firewood—because of the fierce anger(O) of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah.(P) 5 Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah’s(Q) son have plotted(R) your ruin, saying, 6 “Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeel king over it.” 7 Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says:(S)
“‘It will not take place,
it will not happen,(T)
8 for the head of Aram is Damascus,(U)
and the head of Damascus is only Rezin.(V)
Within sixty-five years
Ephraim will be too shattered(W) to be a people.
9 The head of Ephraim is Samaria,(X)
and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son.
If you do not stand(Y) firm in your faith,(Z)
you will not stand at all.’”(AA)
10 Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, 11 “Ask the Lord your God for a sign,(AB) whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.(AC)”
12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.(AD)”
13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David!(AE) Is it not enough(AF) to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience(AG) of my God(AH) also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign:(AI) The virgin[d](AJ) will conceive and give birth to a son,(AK) and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f](AL) 15 He will be eating curds(AM) and honey(AN) when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows(AO) enough to reject the wrong and choose the right,(AP) the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.(AQ) 17 The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away(AR) from Judah—he will bring the king of Assyria.(AS)”
Assyria, the Lord’s Instrument
18 In that day(AT) the Lord will whistle(AU) for flies from the Nile delta in Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria.(AV) 19 They will all come and settle in the steep ravines and in the crevices(AW) in the rocks, on all the thornbushes(AX) and at all the water holes. 20 In that day(AY) the Lord will use(AZ) a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates River(BA)—the king of Assyria(BB)—to shave your head and private parts, and to cut off your beard(BC) also.(BD) 21 In that day,(BE) a person will keep alive a young cow and two goats.(BF) 22 And because of the abundance of the milk they give, there will be curds to eat. All who remain in the land will eat curds(BG) and honey.(BH) 23 In that day,(BI) in every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels,[g](BJ) there will be only briers and thorns.(BK) 24 Hunters will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers(BL) and thorns. 25 As for all the hills(BM) once cultivated by the hoe, you will no longer go there for fear of the briers and thorns;(BN) they will become places where cattle are turned loose and where sheep run.(BO)
