Isaiah 66:2-4
English Standard Version
2 (A)All these things my hand has made,
and so all these things came to be,
declares the Lord.
(B)But this is the one to whom I will look:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit
and trembles at my word.
3 (C)“He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man;
he who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck;
he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers (D)pig's blood;
he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol.
(E)These have chosen their own ways,
and their soul delights in their abominations;
4 (F)I also will choose harsh treatment for them
and bring (G)their fears upon them,
(H)because when I called, no one answered,
when I spoke, they did not listen;
(I)but they did what was evil in my eyes
and chose that in which I did not delight.”
Isaiah 66:2-4
New King James Version
2 For all those things My hand has made,
And all those things exist,”
Says the Lord.
(A)“But on this one will I look:
(B)On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
And who trembles at My word.
3 “He(C) who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he (D)breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions,
And bring their fears on them;
(E)Because, when I called, no one answered,
When I spoke they did not hear;
But they did evil before My eyes,
And chose that in which I do not delight.”
