66 Así ha dicho el Señor:
«El cielo es mi trono,(A) y la tierra es el estrado de mis pies.(B) ¿Qué clase de casa podrían edificarme? ¿Que lugar pueden ofrecerme para mi reposo?(C) 2 Yo hice todo esto con mis propias manos, y fue así como llegaron a existir. Yo pongo la mirada en los pobres y humildes de espíritu, y en los que tiemblan al escuchar mi palabra.
—Palabra del Señor.
3 »Ofrecerme un buey en sacrificio es lo mismo que matar a un hombre; ofrecerme una oveja es lo mismo que degollar un perro; presentarme una ofrenda es lo mismo que ofrecerme sangre de cerdo; quemar incienso es lo mismo que bendecir a un ídolo. 66 Así dice el Señor:
«El cielo es mi trono,
y la tierra, el estrado de mis pies.
¿Qué casa me pueden construir?
¿Dónde estará el lugar de mi reposo?
2 Fue mi mano la que hizo todas estas cosas;
fue así como llegaron a existir»,
afirma el Señor.
«Yo estimo a los pobres y contritos de espíritu,
a los que tiemblan ante mi palabra.
3 Pero los que sacrifican toros
son como los que matan hombres;
los que ofrecen corderos
son como los que desnucan perros;
los que presentan ofrendas de grano
son como los que ofrecen sangre de cerdo
y los que queman ofrendas de incienso
son como los que adoran ídolos.
Ellos han escogido sus propios caminos,
y se deleitan en sus abominaciones.

The Lord Will Judge All Nations
66 This is what the Lord says:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
So ·do you think you can build a house for me [L where is this house you would build for me]?
·Do I need a place to rest [Where is my resting place]?
2 [L Hasn’t…?] My hand made all things.
All things are here because I made them,”
says the Lord.
“These are the people ·I am pleased with [L upon whom I look]:
those who are ·not proud or stubborn [humble and contrite in spirit]
and who ·fear [tremble at] my word.
3 But those people who kill bulls as a sacrifice to me
are like those who kill people.
Those who kill sheep as a sacrifice
are like those who break the necks of dogs.
Those who give me ·grain [L gift; tribute] offerings [Lev. 2:1]
are like those who offer me the blood of pigs [C dogs and pigs were ritually unclean animals and were forbidden as sacrifices].
Those who burn incense
are like those who worship idols [C their rituals were no better than pagan worship because their hearts were not right with God].
These people choose their own ways, not mine,
and they ·love [delight in] ·the terrible things they do [their abominations].

66 This is what the Lord says:
“Heaven is my throne,(A)
and the earth is my footstool.(B)
Where is the house(C) you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things,(D)
and so they came into being?”
declares the Lord.
“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,(E)
and who tremble at my word.(F)
3 But whoever sacrifices a bull(G)
is like one who kills a person,
and whoever offers a lamb
is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever makes a grain offering
is like one who presents pig’s(H) blood,
and whoever burns memorial incense(I)
is like one who worships an idol.
They have chosen their own ways,(J)
and they delight in their abominations;(K)
