En aquel día quedarán tan pocos hombres
que siete mujeres pelearán por uno de ellos,
y le dirán:
«Nosotras nos mantendremos por nuestra cuenta
y nos vestiremos con nuestros propios medios,
pero déjanos llevar tu nombre,
líbranos de nuestra vergüenza.»

Promesa de felicidad para el futuro

En aquel día,
el retoño que el Señor hará brotar
será el adorno y la gloria
de los que queden con vida en Israel;
las cosechas que produzca la tierra
serán su orgullo y su honor.
A los que queden con vida en Sión,
a los que sobrevivan en Jerusalén
y reciban el privilegio de vivir allí,
se les llamará «consagrados al Señor».
Cuando el Señor dicte su sentencia
y ejecute su castigo,
limpiará a Jerusalén de la sangre de sus crímenes
y lavará las manchas de los habitantes de Sión.
Sobre toda la extensión del monte Sión
y sobre el pueblo reunido allí,
el Señor creará una nube oscura en el día,
y en la noche resplandor y llamas de fuego.
Por encima de todos estará la gloria del Señor,
para protegerlos y defenderlos;
les servirá de sombra contra el calor del día
y de protección contra la lluvia y la tempestad.

(A)And seven women (B)shall take hold of (C)one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; (D)take away our reproach.”

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

In that day (E)the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and (F)the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. (G)And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called (H)holy, everyone who has (I)been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when (J)the Lord shall have washed away the filth of (K)the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by (L)a spirit of burning.[a] Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies (M)a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be (N)a canopy. (O)There will be a (P)booth for shade by day from the heat, and (Q)for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

The Branch of the Lord
