17 Contra ti, habitante del país, hay terror, foso y trampa. 18 Cuando quieras huir de la voz del terror, caerás en el foso; y cuando quieras salir del foso, caerás en la trampa. Porque se abrirán las ventanas de los cielos, y temblarán los fundamentos de la tierra. 19 Sí, la tierra será totalmente destruida, del todo desmenuzada, en gran manera sacudida.

17 (A)Fear and the pit and the snare
Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall be
That he who flees from the noise of the fear
Shall fall into the pit,
And he who comes up from the midst of the pit
Shall be [a]caught in the snare;
For (B)the windows from on high are open,
And (C)the foundations of the earth are shaken.
19 (D)The earth is violently broken,
The earth is split open,
The earth is shaken exceedingly.

18 Then it will be that the one who flees the sound of terror will fall into the pit,
And the one who [b]climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare;
For the (B)windows [c]above are opened, and the (C)foundations of the earth shake.
19 (D)The earth is broken apart,
The earth is (E)split through,
The earth is shaken violently.
