Profecía sobre Egipto
19 (A)Profecía sobre[a] Egipto(B).
He aquí, el Señor va montado sobre una nube veloz(C) y llega a Egipto;
se estremecen los ídolos de Egipto ante su presencia(D),
y el corazón de los egipcios se derrite dentro de ellos(E).
2 Incitaré a egipcios contra egipcios,
y cada uno peleará contra su hermano y cada cual contra su prójimo(F),
ciudad contra ciudad y reino contra reino.
3 Entonces el espíritu de los egipcios se apocará dentro de ellos;
confundiré sus planes,
y ellos acudirán a los ídolos, a los espíritus de los muertos,
a los médium y a los espiritistas[b](G).
4 Entregaré a los egipcios en manos de un amo cruel,
y un rey poderoso[c] gobernará sobre ellos —declara el Señor(H), Dios[d] de los ejércitos.
5 Se agotarán las aguas del mar,
y el río se secará y quedará seco(I).
6 Hederán los canales[e](J),
disminuirán y se secarán las corrientes[f] de Egipto[g](K);
la caña y el junco se marchitarán(L).
7 Las cañas junto al río, a orillas[h] del Nilo,
y todos los sembrados junto al Nilo(M)
se secarán, serán esparcidos, y no serán más.
8 Se lamentarán los pescadores,
y harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el Nilo;
los que extienden sus redes sobre las aguas desfallecerán[i](N).
9 Serán confundidos[j] los que trabajan el lino cardado
y los tejedores de tela blanca(O).
10 Y las[k] columnas[l] de Egipto serán demolidas(P),
todos los jornaleros estarán abatidos[m].
11 No son más que necios los príncipes de Zoán[n](Q);
el consejo de los más sabios consejeros de Faraón se ha vuelto torpe[o].
¿Cómo decís a Faraón:
Yo soy hijo de los sabios(R), hijo de los antiguos reyes?
12 Pues bien, ¿dónde están tus sabios?
Que ellos ahora te declaren,
y te hagan saber[p] lo que el Señor de los ejércitos
ha determinado contra Egipto(S).
13 Han obrado neciamente los príncipes de Zoán[q],
se han engañado los príncipes de Menfis(T);
han extraviado[r] a Egipto
los que son la piedra angular(U) de sus tribus.
14 El Señor ha mezclado en medio de ella un espíritu de distorsión(V),
y han hecho extraviar a Egipto(W) en todas sus empresas[s],
como se tambalea[t](X) el ebrio en su vómito.
15 Y no habrá para Egipto obra alguna
que pueda hacer su cabeza o su cola, su hoja de palmera o su junco(Y).
16 En aquel día los egipcios serán como las mujeres, y temblarán y estarán aterrados ante la mano alzada que el Señor de los ejércitos agitará contra ellos(Z). 17 Y la tierra de Judá será terror[u] para Egipto; todo aquel a quien se la mencionen quedará aterrado de ella, a causa del propósito que el Señor de los ejércitos ha determinado contra él(AA).
18 Aquel día cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto hablarán la lengua de Canaán y jurarán lealtad al Señor de los ejércitos(AB); una de ellas será llamada Ciudad de Destrucción[v].
19 Aquel día habrá un altar al Señor en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y un pilar al Señor(AC) cerca de su frontera. 20 Y será por señal y por testimonio al Señor de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto; porque clamarán al Señor a causa de sus opresores, y Él les enviará un salvador y un poderoso(AD), el cual los librará. 21 Y el Señor se dará a conocer en Egipto, y los egipcios conocerán al Señor en aquel día. Adorarán con sacrificios y ofrendas(AE), harán voto al Señor y lo cumplirán. 22 Y el Señor herirá a Egipto; herirá pero sanará(AF); y ellos volverán al Señor(AG), y Él les responderá y los sanará.
23 Aquel día habrá una calzada(AH) desde Egipto hasta Asiria; los asirios entrarán en Egipto y los egipcios en Asiria, y los egipcios adorarán junto con los asirios(AI).
24 Aquel día Israel será un tercero con Egipto y con Asiria, una bendición en medio de la tierra, 25 porque el Señor de los ejércitos lo ha bendecido, diciendo: Bendito es Egipto mi pueblo(AJ), y Asiria obra de mis manos, e Israel mi heredad(AK).

Profecía contra Egipto
19 Profecía contra Egipto:
¡Miren al Señor!
Llega a Egipto montado sobre una nube veloz.
Los ídolos de Egipto tiemblan en su presencia;
el corazón de los egipcios desfallece en su interior.
2 «Incitaré a egipcio contra egipcio;
luchará hermano contra hermano,
amigo contra amigo,
ciudad contra ciudad,
reino contra reino.
3 Los egipcios quedarán desanimados
y consultarán a los ídolos,
a los espíritus de los muertos,
a las médiums y a los espiritistas,
¡pero yo frustraré sus planes!
4 Entregaré a los egipcios
en manos de un amo cruel;
un rey de mano dura los gobernará»,
afirma el Señor, el Señor de los Ejércitos.
5 Se agotarán las aguas del Nilo;
árido y reseco quedará el lecho del río.
6 Apestarán los canales
y bajará el nivel de los arroyos de Egipto hasta dejarlos completamente secos.
¡Las cañas y los juncos quedarán marchitos!
7 A orillas del Nilo,
en la desembocadura del río,
la vegetación perderá su verdor.
Todos los sembrados junto al Nilo
quedarán asolados, dejarán de existir.
8 Gemirán y se lamentarán todos los pescadores,
los que lanzan anzuelos en el Nilo;
desfallecerán los que echan redes en el agua.
9 Quedarán frustrados los que trabajan el hilo de lino peinado;
perderán la esperanza los tejedores de lino fino.
10 Quedarán desalentados los fabricantes de telas;
todos los asalariados se llenarán de angustia.
11 Los oficiales de Zoán no son más que unos necios;
los consejeros más sabios dan a Faraón consejos insensatos.
¿Cómo se les ocurre decirle:
«Yo soy uno de los sabios,
discípulo de los antiguos reyes»?
12 ¿Dónde quedaron tus sabios?
Que te muestren y te hagan saber
lo que el Señor de los Ejércitos
ha planeado contra Egipto.
13 Los oficiales de Zoán se han vuelto necios;
los líderes de Menfis se dejaron engañar.
Las piedras angulares de sus pueblos
han hecho que Egipto pierda el rumbo.
14 El Señor ha infundido en ellos
un espíritu de desconcierto.
En todo lo que hace Egipto le han hecho perder el rumbo.
Como un borracho en su vómito, Egipto se tambalea.
15 Nada puede hacerse por Egipto,
sea cabeza o cola, palmera o junco.
16 En aquel día los egipcios se volverán cobardes. Se estremecerán de terror ante la mano amenazante que el Señor de los Ejércitos agita contra ellos. 17 La tierra de Judá será un espanto para los egipcios. Por causa de lo que el Señor de los Ejércitos está planeando contra ellos, la sola mención de Judá llenará de espanto a los que oigan este nombre.
18 En aquel día habrá en Egipto cinco ciudades que hablarán el idioma de Canaán y que jurarán lealtad al Señor de los Ejércitos. Una de ellas se llamará Ciudad del Sol.[a]
19 En aquel día habrá un altar para el Señor en el corazón mismo de Egipto y en su frontera un monumento al Señor. 20 Esto servirá en Egipto de señal y testimonio del Señor de los Ejércitos. Cuando ellos clamen al Señor por causa de sus opresores, él les enviará un salvador y defensor que los librará. 21 De modo que el Señor se dará a conocer a los egipcios y en aquel día ellos reconocerán al Señor: lo servirán con sacrificios y ofrendas de grano. Harán promesas al Señor y se las cumplirán. 22 El Señor herirá a los egipcios con una plaga y, aun hiriéndolos, los sanará. Ellos se volverán al Señor, y él responderá a sus ruegos y los sanará.
23 En aquel día habrá un camino desde Egipto hasta Asiria. Los asirios irán a Egipto y los egipcios a Asiria, y unos y otros adorarán juntos. 24 En aquel día Israel será, junto con Egipto y Asiria, una bendición en medio de la tierra. 25 El Señor de los Ejércitos los bendecirá, diciendo: «Bendito sea Egipto, mi pueblo, y Asiria, obra de mis manos, e Israel, mi heredad».

19 Dios le dio este mensaje a Isaías, y él se lo comunicó al pueblo:
«¡Miren! Dios se acerca a Egipto,
cabalgando en una nube veloz.
Ante él tiemblan los dioses de Egipto,
y el pueblo egipcio se llena de miedo.
2 »Dios dice:
“Haré que los egipcios
se peleen unos con otros:
el amigo contra su amigo,
una ciudad contra otra,
un reino contra otro reino.
3 Haré que se vuelvan locos,
y que fracasen sus planes.
Entonces buscarán a los dioses,
a los brujos y adivinos,
y a los espíritus de los muertos,
y les preguntarán qué hacer.
4 ”Yo haré que un rey cruel y malvado
gobierne sobre Egipto.
Yo soy el Dios todopoderoso,
y les juro que así será”.
El río Nilo se secará
5-6 »Egipto se quedará sin agua,
y se marchitarán las cañas y los juncos.
El río Nilo se quedará seco,
y sus canales despedirán mal olor.
7 Los campos sembrados a orillas del Nilo
se echarán a perder.
8 Todos los pescadores del Nilo
se pondrán tristes y llorarán.
9-10 Los que tejen lino,
los que fabrican telas
y todos los artesanos
se asustarán y no sabrán qué hacer.
Los consejeros de Egipto fallan
11 »¡Ustedes, jefes de la ciudad de Soan,
que son los consejeros más sabios de Egipto,
en realidad son unos tontos!
¿De qué le sirve al rey de Egipto
que ustedes sean hijos de sabios y de reyes?
12 »Pobre de ti, rey de Egipto;
te has quedado sin consejeros.
Nadie podrá decirte ahora
los planes que el Dios todopoderoso
tiene preparados contra tu pueblo.
13 Los jefes de Soan son unos tontos,
los jefes de Menfis se dejaron engañar
y los jefes de las provincias
hicieron que Egipto se equivocara.
14-15 Dios ha confundido a sus consejeros
porque son unos malvados.
Egipto se tambalea como borracho,
y nadie podrá ayudarlo.
Israel, Egipto y Asiria vivirán en paz
16 »Los egipcios se llenarán de miedo cuando vean que el Dios todopoderoso se prepara para castigarlos. 17 Los egipcios tendrán miedo de la gente de Judá; con sólo acordarse de ellos se llenarán de espanto, porque los planes que el Dios todopoderoso tiene contra Egipto son terribles.
18-22 »Dios castigará a los egipcios, pero después ellos se arrepentirán de su maldad. Entonces Dios les tendrá compasión y los perdonará.
»Cuando llegue ese momento, cinco de las ciudades de Egipto hablarán el idioma de los israelitas y jurarán ser fieles al Dios todopoderoso. Una de esas ciudades se llamará “Ciudad del Sol”. También habrá en Egipto un altar dedicado a Dios, y cerca de su frontera se levantará un monumento en su honor. Ese monumento servirá de señal de que en Egipto se adora al Dios todopoderoso. Cuando los egipcios le pidan a Dios que los libere de sus enemigos, él les enviará un libertador para que los defienda y los salve. Así, Dios hará que los egipcios lo reconozcan y obedezcan, y ellos le presentarán ofrendas y regalos; le harán promesas y se las cumplirán.
23 »En ese tiempo habrá un camino entre Egipto y Asiria. Los egipcios irán a Asiria, y los asirios a Egipto, y ambos pueblos adorarán a Dios. 24 Israel, Egipto y Asiria vivirán en paz. Israel será una bendición para todos los pueblos de la tierra. 25 Y el Dios todopoderoso los bendecirá diciendo:
“Bendigo a Egipto,
pues me pertenece.
Bendigo a Asiria,
pues la hice con mis manos.
Bendigo a Israel,
pues es mi pueblo escogido”».

19 A prophecy(A) against Egypt:(B)
See, the Lord rides on a swift cloud(C)
and is coming to Egypt.
The idols of Egypt tremble before him,
and the hearts of the Egyptians melt(D) with fear.
2 “I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—
brother will fight against brother,(E)
neighbor against neighbor,
city against city,
kingdom against kingdom.(F)
3 The Egyptians will lose heart,(G)
and I will bring their plans(H) to nothing;(I)
they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead,
the mediums and the spiritists.(J)
4 I will hand the Egyptians over
to the power of a cruel master,
and a fierce king(K) will rule over them,”
declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
5 The waters of the river will dry up,(L)
and the riverbed will be parched and dry.(M)
6 The canals will stink;(N)
the streams of Egypt will dwindle and dry up.(O)
The reeds(P) and rushes will wither,(Q)
7 also the plants(R) along the Nile,
at the mouth of the river.
Every sown field(S) along the Nile
will become parched, will blow away and be no more.(T)
8 The fishermen(U) will groan and lament,
all who cast hooks(V) into the Nile;
those who throw nets on the water
will pine away.
9 Those who work with combed flax(W) will despair,
the weavers of fine linen(X) will lose hope.
10 The workers in cloth will be dejected,
and all the wage earners will be sick at heart.
11 The officials of Zoan(Y) are nothing but fools;
the wise counselors(Z) of Pharaoh give senseless advice.(AA)
How can you say to Pharaoh,
“I am one of the wise men,(AB)
a disciple of the ancient kings”?
12 Where are your wise men(AC) now?
Let them show you and make known
what the Lord Almighty
has planned(AD) against Egypt.
13 The officials of Zoan(AE) have become fools,
the leaders of Memphis(AF) are deceived;
the cornerstones(AG) of her peoples
have led Egypt astray.
14 The Lord has poured into them
a spirit of dizziness;(AH)
they make Egypt stagger in all that she does,
as a drunkard staggers(AI) around in his vomit.
15 There is nothing Egypt can do—
head or tail, palm branch or reed.(AJ)
16 In that day(AK) the Egyptians will become weaklings.(AL) They will shudder with fear(AM) at the uplifted hand(AN) that the Lord Almighty raises against them. 17 And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified,(AO) because of what the Lord Almighty is planning(AP) against them.
18 In that day(AQ) five cities(AR) in Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance(AS) to the Lord Almighty. One of them will be called the City of the Sun.[a](AT)
19 In that day(AU) there will be an altar(AV) to the Lord in the heart of Egypt,(AW) and a monument(AX) to the Lord at its border. 20 It will be a sign and witness(AY) to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior(AZ) and defender, and he will rescue(BA) them. 21 So the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge(BB) the Lord. They will worship(BC) with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them.(BD) 22 The Lord will strike(BE) Egypt with a plague;(BF) he will strike them and heal them. They will turn(BG) to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal(BH) them.
23 In that day(BI) there will be a highway(BJ) from Egypt to Assyria.(BK) The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship(BL) together. 24 In that day(BM) Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria,(BN) a blessing[b](BO) on the earth. 25 The Lord Almighty will bless(BP) them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people,(BQ) Assyria my handiwork,(BR) and Israel my inheritance.(BS)”

19 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts.
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the Lord of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
14 The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the Lord of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
21 And the Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the Lord, and perform it.
22 And the Lord shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
