18 ¡Ay de la tierra del zumbido de alas
Que está más allá de los ríos de Cus[a](A),
2 La que envía por el mar embajadores
En naves de junco[b] sobre la superficie de las aguas(B)!
Id, veloces mensajeros, a una nación
De alta estatura[c] y de piel brillante,
A un pueblo temido por todas partes[d],
Una nación poderosa y opresora
Cuya tierra surcan los ríos(C).
3 Todos ustedes, habitantes del mundo y moradores de la tierra(D),
Tan pronto como se alce la bandera sobre los montes, la verán(E),
Y tan pronto como la trompeta sea tocada, la oirán.
4 Porque así me ha dicho el Señor:
«Me estaré quieto y miraré desde[e] Mi morada(F),
Como calor resplandeciente al sol[f](G),
Como nube de rocío en el calor de la cosecha(H)».
5 Pues antes de la cosecha, tan pronto como el botón se abra[g]
Y la flor se convierta en uva madura,
Él cortará los pámpanos con podaderas
Y podará y quitará los sarmientos(I).
6 Juntos serán dejados para las aves de rapiña de los montes,
Y para las bestias de la tierra.
Pasarán allí el verano las aves de rapiña,
Y todas las bestias de la tierra allí invernarán[h](J).
7 En aquel tiempo será traído un obsequio al Señor de los ejércitos
De parte[i] de un pueblo de alta estatura[j] y de piel brillante(K),
De un pueblo temido por todas partes[k],
De una nación poderosa y opresora,
Cuya tierra surcan los ríos,
Al lugar del nombre del Señor de los ejércitos(L), el monte Sión.

A Prophecy Against Cush
18 Woe(A) to the land of whirring wings[a]
along the rivers of Cush,[b](B)
2 which sends envoys(C) by sea
in papyrus(D) boats over the water.
Go, swift messengers,
to a people tall and smooth-skinned,(E)
to a people feared far and wide,
an aggressive(F) nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers.(G)
3 All you people of the world,(H)
you who live on the earth,
when a banner(I) is raised on the mountains,
you will see it,
and when a trumpet(J) sounds,
you will hear it.
4 This is what the Lord says to me:
“I will remain quiet(K) and will look on from my dwelling place,(L)
like shimmering heat in the sunshine,(M)
like a cloud of dew(N) in the heat of harvest.”
5 For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone
and the flower becomes a ripening grape,
he will cut off(O) the shoots with pruning knives,
and cut down and take away the spreading branches.(P)
6 They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey(Q)
and to the wild animals;(R)
the birds will feed on them all summer,
the wild animals all winter.
7 At that time gifts(S) will be brought to the Lord Almighty
from a people tall and smooth-skinned,(T)
from a people feared(U) far and wide,
an aggressive nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers(V)—
the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the Lord Almighty.(W)

18 古实河那边、翅膀刷刷作响之地有祸了！
2 那里派出的使节乘芦苇船行驶在水面上。
迅捷的使节啊，
去身材高大、皮肤光滑、
远近畏惧、强盛凶悍、
国土河流纵横的民族那里吧！
3 世上的一切居民啊，
山上竖立旗帜的时候，
你们要看；
号角吹响的时候，你们要听。
4 耶和华对我说：
“我要从我的居所静静地观看，
无声无息，就像艳阳下的热气，
又如夏收时节的露水。”
5 在收割之前，
在花已凋谢、葡萄将熟之时，
耶和华必毁灭古实人，
就像用刀削去葡萄树的嫩枝，
砍掉蔓延的枝条。
6 他们的尸首成了山间鸷鸟和田野走兽的食物，
夏天被鸷鸟啄食，
冬天被走兽吞噬。
7 那时，这身材高大、皮肤光滑、
远近畏惧、强盛凶悍、
国土河流纵横的民族，
必带着礼物来到锡安山，
献给万军之耶和华。

18 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
4 For so the Lord said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
7 In that time shall the present be brought unto the Lord of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, the mount Zion.
