Isaiah 59:9-10
New King James Version
Sin Confessed
9 Therefore justice is far from us,
Nor does righteousness overtake us;
(A)We look for light, but there is darkness!
For brightness, but we walk in blackness!
10 (B)We grope for the wall like the blind,
And we grope as if we had no eyes;
We stumble at noonday as at twilight;
We are as dead men in desolate places.
Isaiah 59:9-10
New American Standard Bible
A Confession of Wickedness
9 Therefore (A)justice is far from us,
And righteousness does not reach us;
We (B)hope for light, but there is darkness,
For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 We (C)grope for the wall like people who are blind,
We grope like those who have no eyes.
We (D)stumble at midday as in the twilight;
Among those who are healthy we are (E)like the dead.
Isaiah 59:9-10
New International Version
9 So justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light, but all is darkness;(A)
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.
10 Like the blind(B) we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
At midday we stumble(C) as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.(D)

Luke 11:34-36
New King James Version
34 (A)The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is [a]good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is [b]bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”

34 (A)Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is [a]clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is [b]bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 So watch out that the light in you is not darkness. 36 Therefore if your whole body is full of light, without any dark part, it will be wholly illuminated, as when the lamp illuminates you with its light.”

But when they are unhealthy,[b] your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”
