¹⁷ Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord,^{[a] (A)}make your face to shine upon ^(B)your sanctuary, which is desolate. ^18 (C)O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see ^(D)our desolations, and ^(E)the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. ^(F)Delay not, ^(G)for your own sake, O my God, because ^(H)your city and ^(I)your people are called by your name.”

⁴⁴ And you shall know that I am the Lord, ^(A)when I deal with you for my name's sake, ^(B)not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”

^22 (A)But I withheld my hand ^(B)and acted for the sake of my name, ^(C)that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.
