21 (A)Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood (B)from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is He who [a]sits above the [b](C)circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like (D)grasshoppers,
Who (E)stretches out the heavens like a (F)curtain
And spreads them out like a (G)tent to live in.
23 It is He who reduces (H)rulers to nothing,
Who (I)makes the judges of the earth [c]meaningless.
24 [d]Scarcely have they been planted,
[e]Scarcely have they been sown,
[f]Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth,
But He merely blows on them, and they wither,
And the (J)storm carries them away like stubble.

and its people are like grasshoppers.(G)
He stretches out the heavens(H) like a canopy,(I)
and spreads them out like a tent(J) to live in.(K)
23 He brings princes(L) to naught
and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.(M)
24 No sooner are they planted,
no sooner are they sown,
no sooner do they take root(N) in the ground,
than he blows(O) on them and they wither,(P)
and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.(Q)
