² Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
    and cry to her
that she has served her term,
    that her penalty is paid,
that she has received from the Lord’s hand
    double for all her sins.^(A)

¹² Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope;
    today I declare that I will restore to you double.^(A)

    and dishonor was proclaimed as their lot,
therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;
