Isaiah 2:2-4

New International Version

²In the last days^(A)

the mountain^(B) of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;^(C)
it will be exalted^(D) above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it.^(E)

³Many peoples^(F) will come and say,

“Come, let us go^(G) up to the mountain^(H) of the Lord,
    to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
    so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law^(I) will go out from Zion,
    the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.^(J)
⁴He will judge^(K) between the nations
    and will settle disputes^(L) for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
    and their spears into pruning hooks.^(M)
Nation will not take up sword against nation,^(N)
    nor will they train for war anymore.

The Branch From Jesse

11 A shoot^(A) will come up from the stump^(B) of Jesse;^(C)
    from his roots a Branch^(D) will bear fruit.^(E)
²The Spirit^(F) of the Lord will rest on him—
    the Spirit of wisdom^(G) and of understanding,
    the Spirit of counsel and of might,^(H)
    the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
³and he will delight in the fear^(I) of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,^(J)
    or decide by what he hears with his ears;^(K)
⁴but with righteousness^(L) he will judge the needy,^(M)

He will strike^(P) the earth with the rod of his mouth;^(Q)

⁵Righteousness will be his belt^(T)
    and faithfulness^(U) the sash around his waist.^(V)

⁶The wolf will live with the lamb,^(W)
    the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling^[a] together;
    and a little child will lead them.
⁷The cow will feed with the bear,
    their young will lie down together,
    and the lion will eat straw like the ox.^(X)
⁸The infant^(Y) will play near the cobra’s den,
    and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s^(Z) nest.
⁹They will neither harm nor destroy^(AA)
    on all my holy mountain,^(AB)
for the earth^(AC) will be filled with the knowledge^(AD) of the Lord
    as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁸“And I, because of what they have planned and done,^(A) am about to come^[a] and gather the people of all nations^(B) and languages, and they will come and see my glory.^(C)

¹⁹“I will set a sign^(D) among them, and I will send some of those who survive^(E) to the nations—to Tarshish,^(F) to the Libyans^[b] and Lydians^(G) (famous as archers), to Tubal^(H) and Greece,^(I) and to the distant islands^(J) that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory.^(K) They will proclaim my glory among the nations. ²⁰And they will bring^(L) all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain^(M) in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord—on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,”^(N) says the Lord. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the Lord in ceremonially clean vessels.^(O) ²¹And I will select some of them also to be priests^(P) and Levites,” says the Lord.

²²“As the new heavens and the new earth^(Q) that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure.^(R) ²³From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath^(S) to another, all mankind will come and bow down^(T) before me,” says the Lord.
